Combining the talent of period artists, the budgets of nobles and the technology of giclée, it is now possible to purchase vintage paintings and posters for virtually the cost of paper and ink. Reactive Imaging has restored three themes containing three posters or paintings each. Each series is suitable for hanging as a set. In time, this gallery will be expanded.
Many people like to hang art on walls but just do not have anything suitable to send to a printer or cannot afford to pay an artist. Conversely, artists and photographers may possibly have more pieces of original art than it is practical to print. In centuries past, aristocrats, church and state where the only ones able to afford an artist's portrait. And it seems there was a correlation between the amount of wealth and the size of the painting. Though the originals fetch high prices at auctions, reproductions are often public domain.
Lithography prints (which generally just used offset printing presses), lose the texture of fine art paper and cannot quite capture the full gamut with four CMYK inks. Giclée printers can capture a wider gamut while reproducing originals one at a time on luxurious art papers. Using as many as 12 ink pigments, it has been said that a giclée print is an original in another form.
If you have your own digital art or photo files, Reactive Imaging is happy to print them for you. If you are looking for something to dress up your walls but do not have digital art, vintage giclée reproductions may be a perfect fit for your budget.
