THE MASK OF ZORRO - 1998, Alejandro Murrieta (Antonio Banderas), posing as a Spanish aristocrat seeking to get into the "inner circle," responds to corrupt Spanish Governor Don Rafael Montero (Stewart Wilson): "I am a man ... in search of a vision."
As the size of this site swells, I envision the need of a localized search engine. Several solutions are currently being investigated. In the mean time, here are two free methods for quickly locating information on virtually any site.
Site Map: Fortunately there is one here. The format may differ among sites but the point is the same: to present a comprehensive list of all pages available for public viewing. With the Site Map open in a Web browser, invoke the Find command (usually Mac: Cmd-F; PC: Ctrl-F) and type in a key word. Cycle through occurrences with Find Next command (usually Mac: Cmd-G; PC: Ctrl-G). Only visible titles are searched but the categorized layout of the Site Map page may help locate information contextually, even without the Find command.
Google Domain: Sounds like an impressive new feature of Google. Actually, it is a little-used feature that has existed all along in several search engines, including Google, Yahoo and Bing. Type in the domain followed by desired phrase. The top hits should be results on that site. For example, type "reactiveimaging.com: giclee" and see results pictured on the inset. Most search engines display only the first few relevant hits. In Google, to expand all relevant pages on that site, there is a plus sign next to "Show more results from www.reactiveimaging.com." Click it to see a complete list.
The domain search is also useful when building a site and looking for phrases that should be replaced. There is a caveat: Searches are not "live." Results are based on the most recent data cache stored on the search engine server. Some new sites may not yet have populated the search engines.
