As a cost-saving measure, Apple made the iPhone Dock (standard with the original iPhone) a $29 optional accessory in the Apple Store for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Third-party clock-radio docks can be purchased for $150 or more.
A French designer has responded to the plethora of expensive docking options with a do-it-yourself iPhone dock -- trimmed from heavyweight paper. Print the template on colored stock or add graphics to the PDF before output. Score dotted lines for folding and trim the solid lines.
